Welcome to EFBKA sm

Introduction

EFBKA Logo smEpping Forest is one of nine divisions of the Essex Beekeepers’ Association (EBKA – www.ebka.org) which was founded in 1880 and is part of the wider British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA – www.bbka.org.uk). It became a charity in 1993.

We are a group of hobby beekeepers living in London Boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge and also in West Essex in the vicinity of Epping Forest.

Welcome to EFBKA - picture stripMeetings

We meet a minimum of once a month throughout the year. From October until April, we meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at the Chingford Horticultural Society Hall, Larkshall Road, Chingford, E4 6NH.

Most meetings have a speaker. Topics covered are usually about bees and beekeeping and related topics.

During the summer months we visit a number of apiaries, either in members gardens or our own divisional apiary. These meetings are on Saturday afternoons and usually incorporate a speaker or demonstration. See our events list here.

Full Membership (Single and Joint)

Full membership is required if you have bees and includes insurance for up to three hives. Joint membership can be given if two beekeepers live at the same address. As a full member of our division, you are also a full member of the BBKA which will give you many benefits including public liability insurance.
