Epping Forest is one of nine divisions of the Essex Beekeepers’ Association (EBKA – www.ebka.org) which was founded in 1880 and is part of the wider British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA – www.bbka.org.uk). It became a charity in 1993.
We are a group of beekeepers living in the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest and Redbridge and also in the West Essex vicinity of Epping Forest.
We meet a minimum of once a month throughout the year. From October until April, we meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at the Chingford Horticultural Society Hall, Larkshall Road, Chingford, E4 6NH.
Most meetings have a speaker. Topics covered are usually about bees and beekeeping and related topics.
During the summer months we visit a number of apiaries, either in members gardens or our own divisional apiary. These meetings are on Saturday afternoons and usually incorporate a speaker or demonstration. See our events list here.
